The labor markets continued to improve in November as employers across the nation added far more new workers than had been expected. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that there were 321,000 positions added last month, well above the 230,000 expected, while September and October payrolls were revised higher by 44,000. Within the report it showed that the Unemployment Rate remained at six-year lows of 5.8%. Payrolls have now exceeded 200,000+ jobs for 10 straight months, a feat not achieved since 1994.

With the holiday shopping season underway, getting to the mall and running errands in the car has gotten a lot cheaper, due to the plunge in gas prices at the pumps. The national average price for a regular gallon of gasoline is $2.71 and even lower in certain parts of the country. That is down from $2.96 a month ago and down from the $3.25 this time last year. AAA estimates that Americans are collectively saving about $350 million per day on gas, compared to last spring and summer.
